Response to Martek 440 Ignition Help!!

The 400f2 1977 had a switch change. The start switch had 12 volts +
from the key switch [ black wire ] It would power the headlight in
the released position. It would power the start relay in the pressed
start position. If your switch and the bike are different years, you
will have to change the grounding on the switch or the relay. If you
need a wiring diagram. Get in touch with me.

The wiring was changed on some hondas at some time from "Ground to
start" to "Power to start". You need to check out the switch carfully
to sort out which one it is. If you have problems email me direct and
i will give you some hints

Thanks to the people who responded on my CB400F wiring question.  I have another one.  Trying to diagnose a problem with the electric starter switch.  I installed a right-hand control set from a CB350F as the CB400's switches had fallen apart.  Connected the orange-yellow wire and grounds to the main harness.  But the starter doesn't work!  There's no power at the switch itself (test light doesn't light) but the solenoid positive terminal has power on all the time.  Headlight doesn't dim when I press the starter button either.

Any ideas?

Hey Stranger? My MARTEK440 works w/out a box. The box is for running
diferent coils. I have a scan Of the installation instructions. Call
once and a while or return an email and you have all this by now. ;-)/
